Here is a list of a few of Hailey’s favorite books for practicing s-blends. Each book comes complete with speech sound word lists for s-blends. Don’t see one you love listed here? Stuck by Oliver Jeffers

This is a silly book about a little boy who gets his kite stuck in a tree. He tries throwing a variety of increasingly absurd things up into the tree in an attempt to retrieve it, and it is a hoot to read with kids.

This is a book about a stick who doesn’t know what to do after his popsicle melts away. This is a silly book where his friends help him to find a new spot.

Where’s Spot? by Eric Hill

A cute little classic, where you can lift flaps and help Sally find Spot!

This book is great for the repetitions of “spot” on every page, both in words and for sentence level practice. You can also use stairs and basket.

Another cute classic! This book is perfect for practicing s-blends in the winter.

I Like Stars by Margaret Wise Brown

This is a great book for practicing s-blends, with its repetitions and many descriptions of stars and their beauty.
