The Book That Almost Rhymed by Omar Abed and Hatem Aly
This is such a fun rhyming story! It might be one of my very favorite rhyming books. Follow along with this sibling duo as the little boy makes a story and learns to embrace his little sister’s interjections.
I Ain’t Gonna Paint No More by Karen Beaumont and David Catrow
This is a book about a child who ends up painting almost everything in sight! It’s a fun lead in to painting and drawing based enrichment activities for rhyming! Check out this YouTube video for more on rhyming adventures and enrichment activities.
Tree Full of Wonder by Anna Smithers and Martyna Nejman
A bit of a sappy ending, but this book will teach you and your kids all about trees and will do so through some truly beautiful illustrations!
There’s a Bear In My Chair by Ross Collins
This book is a hoot! The mouse is very upset because a bear has stolen his chair. You’ll find a ton of words that rhyme with bear in this book and the ending makes me smile.
One Duck Stuck by Phyllis Root and Jane Chapman
I have not had a chance to read this book yet, but have heard good things. It is about kids with a variety of disabilities and their experiences in the world.
See You Later Alligator by Sally Hopgood and Emma Levey
The rhymes in this book are all based on the classic “see you later, alligator” phrase! A tortoise says goodbye to all his friends with a different rhyme. :)
The Mosquito Burrito by Didi Dragon and Lenaska Ti
The mosquito in this book has quite the appetite! You’ll have fun with this book, and you’ll get to practice your Spanish in addition to your rhyming!
Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney
I’m pretty sure everyone has heard of this book at this point…If you haven’t, give it a read and get some rhyming practice in before bedtime!
Little Blue Truck by Alice Schertle and Jill McElmurry
I love the illustrations in this book! Quite the rhyming classic, and worth the read. You can also find all sorts of additions to the original, like Little Blue Truck’s Springtime and Good Night, Little Blue Truck.
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault, and Lois Ehlert
With this book you get rhyming and alphabet practice! “wee” “tree” “room” “boom”, you can even make this a sing-a-long book!
Giraffes Can’t Dance by Giles Andreae and Guy Parker-Rees
This is such a sweet story about a giraffe who learns how to dance with a little help from his kind cricket friend.
Big Truck Little Island by Chris Van Dusen
We love Chris Van Dusen’s books here! This one is about a big truck that causes an even bigger traffic jam on a little island.
